The mini-block focus was its waste stream and how to integrate it into one’s daily means. Vitalizing the use of public integration and reclaiming the streets of Harlem the Mini-block kept those two ideas at its core. This is located between Adam Clayton and 125th St., and it is reimagining its spatial uses. The Mini-block adds a market, carved into the commercial building of 125th using upcycled material as the main ingredient from its community. It also adds more greenery and recreational spaces. As well as a new system of circulation, getting rid of the grid of car locomotion. The community center which is at the center of the Mini-block uses the waste stream as a means of promoting local businesses with its upcycling and recycling way of thinking. Focusing on the visibility and process of each creation to the final product being sold into the market. The community center includes a community garden, an automotive system of sorting through recycle material, private offices for educational purposes, auditorium and much more.
